Call for submissions for

“Land of Dreams”

   

 

 

The National Park Service is currently in production on a new film for Homestead National Monument of America, “Land Of Dreams Homesteading America”.  This film will be a 20 minute exploration into the history and legacy of the 1862 Homestead Act and what the word “homestead” has become in our society.   

We are seeking your help.  We are putting out a call for all interested parties to document their “homestead” on video and send it to the NPS to be part of this exciting new project.   Whether your Homestead is a farm, a lot in a development or a roof top, we want to see and hear about you connection to the place that you call a Homestead. 

 All entries are due by November 1. 

 Tapes must me no longer than 20 min; any video format will be accepted.

Videos must include a guided tour of the homestead and on-camera Interview with thoughts or musings to these questions: 

  • How did you come to your “homestead”?
  • How would you describe your connection to the “homestead”?
  • What does the idea of homestead mean to you?
  • What does “Land of Dreams” mean to you

 *  By sending in your video it is understood that you grant unlimited rights in perpetuity to the National Park Service for use of the images and sound that is submitted. 

**  All participants must sign and return the downloadable release form allowing the NPS to use the footage.
